In a rather sad turn of events, Kolkata's Eden Gardens has lost its bid to host the India England match at ICC Woirld Cup 2011, as renovation work at the ground was not completed on time, ahead of the forthcoming tournament. In India, cricket grounds are maintained by the respective state associations. Eden Gardens located in West Bengal is in the care of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB).
